Following a Recognition Note of February 15th, 2011 issued by the Cape Verdean government (AMP-CV) SCMA was given the competences to implement procedures, requirements and standards related to the ISM Code and ISPS for Cape Verdean Ships and Ship-owner Companies / Managers.
Subsequently, on July 15th, 2015 the Cape Verdean government (AMP-CV) delegated authority to SCMA as a Recognized Organization / Recognized Security Organization (RO / RSO) as to perform services for the statutory certification of vessels authorized to fly the Cape Verdean flag under the ISM and ISPS codes, as well to perform services relating to protection evaluation and the creation of sequential security plans to port facility and Cape Verdean ports under the ISPS code.
